Pilgrim's Inn

"PILGRIM'S INN":
2010 Kayaking Adventure Package:

Enjoy some of the best kayaking on the coast of Maine with this special getaway package from Pilgrim’s Inn. Spend a half-day kayaking and exploring the islands of the Stonington Archipelago with Old Quarry Ocean Adventures and, afterwards, let our certified massage therapist ease your tired muscles with a Swedish deep tissue or trigger point massage. This outstanding package for two includes a full gourmet breakfast each morning, a half day guided kayaking trip and a one hour massage for two. Previous kayaking experience is ont necessary. Pre-tax package price is $300 plus the cost of lodging at Pilgrim's Inn.

Explore Isle au Haut with this Special Package from Pilgrim's Inn:

Step aboard the Nigh Duck for an hour long ride out to Isle au Haut, and spend the day exploring one of Acadia National Park's best kept secrets on bike and on foot. Hike the shoreline trails of this beautiful island, visit old spruce forests, relax along the shores of Long Pond, and enjoy spectacular views from 50 foot cliffs. $55 adults/$40 for kids plus the cost of lodging at Pilgrim's Inn. Price includes a full breakfast each morning, a packed lunch from our restaurant the Whale's Rib Tavern and round trip ferry service to Isle au Haut. Add an additional $20/pp for mountain bikes, or bring your own. Tax and tip not included.

Natural History Tour of the Stonington Archipelago:

Experience the Maine coast from aboard a lobster boat and learn about the facinating natural history of this beautiful region of Maine. You'll see seals and light houses and will go for a swim in a freshwater granite quarry. You'll learn how this area was settled and what drives the economy from farming, fishing and boat building to granite and tourism, along with fascinating information about the flora and fauna of this region. Learn about the famous Maine lobster industry and haul lobster traps with Captain Bill Baker. $50 for adults/$30 kids under 12 plus the cost of lodging at Pilgrim's Inn. This package includes a full breakfast in the morning, tickets for the natural history tour, beach towels to bring along for your swim, and an afternoon snack box. Tax not included.

Blue Hill Inn

"BLUE HILL INN":
Eco-tour with the innkeeper

Saturday, June 13 (raindate Sunday, June 14). Start with the fabulous inn breakfast at 8 a.m. By 9, we'll be on the road heading for Old Quarry Ocean Adventures, with our fleece pullovers in hand. From 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., we'll be in Capt Bill's capable hands as he shares his knowledge about the natual history of the area as we cruise through the archipelago. We might see seals, seabirds, porpoises, eagles, osprey, an active quarry, Stonington Harbor, Mark Island Lighthouse (and hear its fabulous foghorn), the schooner fleet, and much of the 60 islands of the Stonington archipelago. Capt Bill will discuss natural history topics including the geology of the area, the history of the granite industry, other local history, lobster and fin fishing, and the local wildlife. We'll even get to haul a couple of Capt Bill's lobster traps on our way in. I'll bring the snacks and the picnic lunch. We'll be back on land early afternoon, leaving you time to explore Deer Isle's great hiking trails and shops. Package rates vary with room selection. Lighthouse Tour Package

Enjoy this three-day, three-way Maine Lighthouse tour weekend. When you check in on Thursday or Friday, you'll receive a package of information about Maine lighthouses, including a state map with the history of each lighthouse. Explore the region by car for one leg of your package. On Saturday, September 12, head off for a boat ride on the Nigh Duck for a tour of seven lighthouses, including Robinson Point Light - Isle au Haut; Saddleback Light - remote; Brown's Head Lighthouse - Vinal Haven; Goose Rocks Light - Fox Island Thoroughfare; Heron Neck Light; and Mark Island Light - Deer Isle Thoroughfare.
